Hilary Devey, founder and managing director of Pall-Ex has been named UK entrepreneur of the year for business services by Ernst & Young at an awards ceremony held at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
Judges were impressed with Hilary Devey’s determination to succeed, which had an enormous impact on her personal life during the formation of the company. Starting a company single-handedly, from re-mortgaging her own house to raise start up capital, and lobbying local council for the right to trade was no easy task, but this hard work established the nationwide business she now leads.
With 10 years’ business success, Pall-Ex specialises in collection and delivery of small consignments of palletised freight, throughout the UK and Europe, by integrating work for retained corporate accounts with collections and deliveries from the 100 strong Pall-Ex network of haulage companies.
