P&O Ferrymasters has launched three intermodal services to Italy. The freight management company will now offer intermodal services to/from Bari, Naples and Bologna in Italy from/to Rotterdam in Holland and Zeebrugge in Belgium.
Bari, which is the second economic centre of southern Italy, will be served by daily rail links from Milan. The Naples service will operate via Busto Arsizio, 25km north of Milan, which boasts one of Europe’s most advanced intermodal centres. Bologna will act as a gateway to Greece as well as serving local traffic. It will become the company’s second strategic hub terminal in Italy after Melzo which is 20km east of Milan.
