DHL has created a new organisation DHL Industrial, to service customers in industries such as manufacturing, along with infrastructure and oil, gas and chemical sectors.
The company says taking a more holistic approach will help increase supply chain visibility and generate synergies. DHL Industrial will employ over 3,000 people throughout the UK, and will be headed by managing director Tim Slater.
“This new business model is unique in the supply chain market and brings with it an unrivalled range and depth of capabilities, supported by the skills and experience of our 3,000 people. By providing a unique set of supply chain solutions for industrial customers including consultancy, strategic planning, procurement, order management and supply chain optimization, and combining these with traditional warehousing and distribution solutions, we believe the new approach to the market offers the most comprehensive service in the sector. We are looking forward immensely to working closely with our existing customers and collaborating with businesses across the industrial sector to help unlock additional value from their supply chains,” said Slater.
