JDR Distribution’s new ‘moved4u’ delivery gateway service has attracted substantial investment along with a new board of directors. The service is a low-cost, simplified way to book and ship multi single-load pallet deliveries to customers in post codes, ranging from Lancashire in the north to Oxford in the south, and from Wales in the west to East Anglia in the east. The service is obligation-free and accessible 24/7.
In October, JDR secured £250,000 investment for future growth from a variety of sources, including the DTI-backed Advantage Early Growth Fund, as well as a group of Business Angels from around the midlands.
At the same time, the main board has been strengthened with the appointment of three new directors. These are Mike Piper, a former director of 3i venture capital business, who becomes chairman, Declan Mellett, a director of investment and development fund Tichsa2, who takes over the marketing activities, and Peter Brown, from investment company AEGF. Jarrod Baughan leads the company as managing director.
