Increased business at Kwan Yick meant a larger warehouse was needed to store its stock of more than 1,000 ambient food product lines which are aimed at producers of Chinese meals.
John Saxton, technical manager for Kwan Yick, was responsible for the final selection. He says: “We shortlisted two potential suppliers and as we neared decision time the plans were changed many times because we wanted to squeeze as much storage space as possible into the warehouse. When the going got tough one supplier went off the boil but Linpac Storage Systems never did.”
Once the green light was given for Kwan Yick to move into their new facility the transition had to be completed quickly. As the building had previously been used for carpet manufacturing, considerable work was required to cut out all of the steel work before the storage solution of Linpac’s wide aisle and drive-in racking could be installed.
