Schoeller Arca Systems has appointed Johan Thans managing director of its UK operations. Thans is based in the company’s European headquarters in Hardenburg, Holland but will spend a large part of his time in the UK working with his local managers.
Richard Brown, Eurostar’s chief executive, is the new president-elect of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK). Brown joined Eurostar in August 2002 and has worked in the UK rail industry for 30 years. He worked for National Express Group from 1996 as chief executive, trains and, latterly, as group commercial director and board member.
CitySprint has appointed Andy Lawrence and David Morgan national business development manager, and general manager respectively. Previously Lawrence was national sales manager at DHL Same Day. Morgan joins CitySprint from Countdown International (formerly part of the Anderson Young Group), where he was general manager.

FKI Logistex has recruited Noel Blake and Keith Edmonds as business development managers for its warehouse and distribution division. Previously Blake was sales director for Doyen Medipharm, which supplies medical packaging and fabricating machinery to the medical industries. He joins FKI with 20 years experience in the sale of high value installations.
