Culina Logistics has won a contract with Cadbury Trebor Bassett to handle the radial supply chain for its chocolate and confectionery brands.
Culina will handle the contract on a shared-user basis. The deal will see collections made from Cadbury’s distribution sites at Minworth, near Sutton Coldfield, and Milton Keynes, delivered via the Culina network across the UK.
Cadbury will also track orders via an integrated IT system, with proof of deliveries scanned and available online. The web site provides details of service levels, order progress and enquiries. The company will also have access to real time management information.
Ralph Moore, national transport manager at Cadbury Trebor Bassett, said: “At Cadbury we produce some of the UK’s leading sweet brands and it is important that we have a reliable, high-quality supply chain that is also flexible and cost effective.
“Culina has a robust radial network that is very flexible. The company also provides a lot of useful order information and feedback through the OTIF system, which is very important to ensuring the operation runs efficiently.”
