London based Landform Developments is pursuing a development called Burnaston Cross, which extends to some 120 acres adjacent to the A38/A50 interchange, three miles south of Derby.
It has applied for outline consent for the site. Already TNT Post has expressed interest in the site, which has the potential for a railhead connection.
An application for full permission has been lodged with South Derbyshire District Council for the first phase of the scheme, which could be occupied by TNT Post. A 230,000 sq ft building is proposed which could be used for a mail sorting depot.
