London City Bond, the wine and spirits logistics provider, has opened a bonded warehousing operation at Hillington, near Glasgow airport.
The 100,000 square feet warehouse can store nearly half a million cases of wines and spirits that will be delivered just-in-time to Scotland’s major cities. The facility will also boast the latest warehouse management systems to monitor and up-date stock levels for clients, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.
Alf Allington, managing director of LCB, said: “This is the company’s seventh warehousing facility in the UK and a key part of our ambitious, long-term strategy to achieve a 15 per cent year-on-year growth rate. As one of Scotland’s largest warehouses dedicated to the wine and spirits sector, the site will not only increase LCB’s capacity by ten per cent but also enable us to provide a next-day delivery service for more than 100 additional delivery points north of the border.”
