Toyota’s newest engine-powered forklift – the Tonero – has been designed to cut out harmful substances such as asbestos, cadmium and mercury, and is also lead and hexavalent chromium-free.
The truck performs better than the exhaust emissions standards of European Directive 97/68/EC Emission Stage IIIa without compromising engine power or productivity. Optional catalytic mufflers and diesel particulate filters also help reduce emissions. It has also been designed to be 99 per cent recyclable at end-of-life.
Last year Toyota also launched the BT Lifter Silent hand pallet truck, which is 30 per cent quieter than conventional hand pallet trucks. It is certified to meet strict noise norms for night-time delivery operations.
