Pure Digital has appointed NYK Logistics for an undisclosed sum under a three-year contract to handle the UK distribution of its range of DAB radios, ahead of plans to grow the business.
The operation will be based at NYK’s Tilbrook facility in Milton Keynes and involve the receipt and de-stuffing of containers from Felixstowe, storage and onward distribution to both independent and multiple electrical retailers.
NYK will distribute goods using a combination of dedicated and shared user vehicles and will also offer product re-work and software upgrades, in addition to quality control and functional bench-testing.
Alex Lainé, director of sales operations at Pure Digital, said: “With the current forecast growth in our business, NYK inspired confidence in their ability to provide us with the capacity , quality and geographical reach that we needed going forward.”
He added that ahead of further expansion internationally, NYK’s global infrastructure was also integral to its choice.
