Asda’s distribution centre in Teesport has been presented with an award for its health and safety management by the British Safety Council.
The distribution centre, which opened in 2006, is one of 23 that Asda operates from across the UK. It recorded 249 days without reporting any accident or injuries.
Chris Moore, health and safety manager at Asda, said: “This award is testimony to the attitude and continual focus every colleague and manager places upon health at the Teesport depot. Their achievements are a credit to Asda and demonstrate that productivity and safety can go hand in hand within a fast paced business like ours.”
