Kardex has enhanced its Shuttle XP vertical lift storage and retrieval system to allow for a higher load of materials handling at a greater range of working heights.
The computer-controlled storage unit is designed to minimise floor space use and speed up picking, while providing additional security and safety and is now capable of housing 120 tonnes of material at a height of up to 20m.
Richard Price, business development manager at Kardex, said: “As stock control becomes more accurate, downtime and buffer levels are reduced and the return on investment is usually seen within just six to 18 months.”
