Culina Logistics is to bring its transport operations in-house, adding an extra 200 employees to its workforce.
The transfer of transport activities from the former Hanbury Davies business, which was bought by Wincanton in January, will take place on 1st November 2008.
The move comes as the company aims to offer a more “co-ordinated and effective” supply chain service, following the merger of Culina and Baylis Logistics earlier this year.
Hanbury Davies supported the company’s distribution activities in the chilled sector from its Milton Keynes and Staffordshire sites.
In addition, Culina is opening a new site at Haverhill in Cambridgeshire in August, creating a further 350 jobs.
Once both moves are complete the total workforce will comprise 1,850 employees.
