British Airways World Cargo is set to increase its fuel surcharge to 75 pence from 13 June due to heightened fuel prices.
The rise comes as prices exceeded the level 23 threshold on British Airways’ fuel index for the second week in a row.
Adam Carson, senior manager revenue management at British Airways, said: “Fuel prices continue to climb and as a result it is necessary to increase our fuel surcharge in line with the index.”
* In addition, British Airways World Cargo has appointed Faisel Yaqoob as country cargo manager for Bangladesh. He will be responsible for all commercial and customer service activity in the country.
Yaqoob has been with the carrier since 2004 and joins from his position as commercial manager for Pakistan.
He will report to Johnny Rubio, area commercial manager for the Middle East, Central Asia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
