Logistics Showroom, the new format exhibition held at Solar, Magna Park on 21st and 22nd May, attracted a record number of visitors, increasing attendance by 20 per cent.
Mike Sherrard, director of B2B exhibitions at Centaur Exhibitions, said: “A 20 per cent increase in visitor figures, together with the level of support from existing and potential exhibitors, has demonstrated a live logistics event held in a real warehouse environment is a successful format in this market.”
Belgravium, Inotec and OBS Logistics were just three of the logistics suppliers showcasing their range of products and services and following the success of the event, 66 per cent of exhibitors have already rebooked their stands for Logistics Showroom 2009.
David Gray, chief executive of Proteus Software, said: “Logistics Showroom proved to be a really great show for us. The audience were exactly in our target market and we generated a good number of high quality leads.”
The move to hold the exhibition at Solar, Magna Park was also received well. Gray added: “The Magna Park Distribution Centre proved to be an apt venue for a show geared to the logistics industry, and another plus is that it is in easy reach of the motorways.”
Highlights at the event included an 8m lift from Elephante Lifts and Ro-Dor’s flagship range of PVCu roller shutter doors. The free seminar programme also proved popular, with exhibitors including Diamond Pheonix, Momote, Zetes and Logistics Learning Alliance using case studies to illustrate key points.
The Live Demo Arena went down well too with Combilift Ltd hosting the Midland heat of its 2008 Driver of the Year Competition, Hako demonstrating its sweeping machines, Translift Bendi showcasing its 12m Bendi High Lift and Psion Teklogix, hosting its Live Voice Pick Olympics.
Hannah Jefferys, marketing manager at Psion Teklogix, said: “We left the show having taken many very high quality leads that could prove extremely worthwhile indeed.”
