A pre-let of 135,000 sq ft of industrial space has been agreed with seafood company Cumbrian Holdings at Foxcover Distribution Park in Seaham, County Durham.
The deal, which achieved a headline rent of £4.75 per sq ft was completed by King Sturge, which also let a 125,087 sq ft unit to the company last spring.
Cumbrian Holdings provides a range of fresh fish and seafood products to some of the UK’s leading retailers and are now expanding its operations at the Foxcover site.
Foxcover Distribution Park, developed by Grantside, is rapidly becoming one of Seaham’s real success stories; it is already home to big names Robertson’s Timber Kit, Yearsley and ISL cold storage.
Steve Davis, managing director at Grantside, said: ‘Foxcover’s prime location initially attracted Cumbrian Holdings as it offers unrivalled transport links with close proximity to the A19 and the newly constructed port at Seaham.”
The success of the business park, combined with substantial improvements to the Seaham area, are highly significant in contributing to raising the profile of Seaham as an attractive location for businesses looking to relocate.
Simon Hill of King Sturge said: “The extensive redevelopment of Seaham town centre and the excellent road links has proved advantageous in the lettings at Foxcover.”
Following the success of the first phase of development, a further two units of 37,000 sq ft and 62,000 sq ft have now been completed. Joint letting agents are King Sturge and GVA Lamb & Edge.
