GreenChem is set to increase the price of AdBlue by six pence per litre in the UK from 1st July, following a sharp rise in the cost of its key ingredient urea and exchange rate developments affecting the pound.
An increase of 3.5 pence per litre will be seen across all other markets from the same time due to the escalated cost of raw materials.
AdBlue is required by most advanced heavy duty diesel engines to help reduce emissions.
BASF, another AdBlue supplier, announced a similar price hike two weeks ago, which it also attributed to the increasing cost of urea.
