Independent IT services company Vista Retail Support has implemented Masternaut Three X’s advanced satellite tracking services, giving it real-time visibility of its 90-strong fleet of service vehicles and mobile engineers in the UK.
Vista operates from three geographical areas and has a team of home-based engineers that look after smaller regions within each area.
The software allows the company to verify the start and end of each job and to plan the best route for engineers, taking into account last minute changes or additional stop offs. The service also enables managers and controllers to monitor progress during a journey so they can keep customers informed.
In addition, the technology offers added security for lone workers and has helped improve driving habits among the workforce as speed limits can be set for each vehicle.
Brian Norman, operations director at Vista, said: “We have seen an improvement in driving styles and a reduction in accidents and consequently our claims have reduced, which has helped lower our insurance costs.”
Vista builds, installs, supports and maintains IT systems for clients including Primark, Lloyds Pharmacy, Asda and Fenwick.
