Abbey Road Tankers has saved an estimated £800 per month on fuel after fitting 40 of its trucks with TISS’s Impregnable anti-siphon.
The device claims to prevent any siphoning, skimming and diesel spills through the use of a float-valve that locks off fuel once it is in the tank.
Following the trial Abbey now plans to fit the remainder of its fleet with the devices.
David Gilmour, fleet engineer at Abbey Road Tankers, said: “With fuel prices having risen by more than 20 per cent over the past 12 months it became a necessity rather than a preference to protect our fuel.”
