Parcelnet has acquired the courier business of TNT Post, taking over the delivery of more than 12.5 million parcels a year.
Under the agreement, Parcelnet has integrated the company’s home delivery contract for catalogue and online retailer JD Williams.
The company has also taken on 100 former TNT Post employees as part of the deal and is now its preferred home delivery partner.
The move comes as Parcelnet aims to strengthen its network and follows the acquisition of the Redcats courier business last year.
Parcelnet now handles the home delivery service for UK brands La Redoute and Empire Stores and since the latest acquisition now has 7,000 lifestyle couriers, strengthening its presence in London and the south east of England.
