Print management specialist APS Group has opened an additional purpose-built warehouse facility following a period of growth.
The 50,000 sq ft site, which is based near its existing head office, production, storage and distribution centre in Cheadle Heath, Cheshire, is fitted with racking and a forklift truck fleet by Jungheinrich.
The materials handing company has designed and installed a pallet racking system with 7,000 pallet locations to store both raw materials and finished items. It will be served by a combination of EKS 310 order pickers and ETV 216 reach trucks, along with powered pallet trucks and an EFG115 counterbalanced machine.
All vehicles are electric powered to ensure products remain clean, as well as offering environmental benefits.
APS has used Jungheinrich at its current unit for the past eight years and according to Paul Cairns, the company’s logistics operations manager, they have had very few mechanical problems with the fleet since its installation.
