National rental company Burnt Tree Vehicle Solutions has added 100 factory-bodied DAF LF45 trucks to its 8,000-strong fleet.
The order is part of a £65 million investment the company is making this year as it plans to increase the size and scope of its offering
All vehicles are 7.5 tonnes with a 4.3m wheelbase and are fitted with either a 5.15m box or a curtainsided body.
DAF developed its factory-bodied vehicle range ahead of the planned introduction of Whole Vehicle Type Approval. All are assembled and fitted onto the chassis on a new line within the assembly plant.
Richard Metcalfe, chief executive of Burnt Tree, said: “For standard box bodied and curtainsided trucks, of the type that figure strongly in our rental fleet, it should help to make vehicle acquisition and operation cheaper, simpler and quicker.”
Tony Pain, marketing director at DAF Trucks, added: “As this approach gains wider acceptance we will extend the range of body types and sizes to meet demand and are already poised to introduce further models.”
