Still Materials Handling has taken over its largest UK distributor, DAC Handling Solutions, with the combined business trading under the Still name.
Still purchased the DAC business and its assets on 18th July after the company went into administration, however it did not take on the company’s debts.
Nick Smith of DAC Handling Solutions has taken over the position of UK managing director.
His predecessor Tom McCloy will continue in an advisory role, assisting the integration process, before his retirement at the end of 2008.
Still Materials Handling is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Still GmbH of Hamburg, Germany.
Vincent Halma, vice president of Still GmbH, said: “DAC Handling Solutions is our largest distributor in the UK…This move further strengthens our business base in the UK and demonstrates Still’s ongoing commitment to the UK market.”
