Contact lens maker CooperVision has hired Meachers Group to provide it with overflow warehousing and local distribution following a period of growth including the acquisition of Ocular Sciences.
Under the agreement, Meachers will store raw materials and quality assurance records for the company at its Nursling and Derby facilities.
Both sites have recently been updated with the company’s an enhanced warehouse management information system, which will allow CooperVision to access current stock levels and movement figures over the internet.
The software uses radio and barcode scanning technology and is run on internally hosted and managed file servers from Meachers’ Southampton headquarters.
