Jungheinrich is investing around 70 million euros (£56 million) in developing two factories in Bavaria and Saxony as it expands its global production.
The Bavaria site will be based near the company’s existing facility in Moosburg and will be dedicated to manufacturing warehouse trucks and systems equipment, while the facility in Landsberg, Saxony will be used for the production of battery-powered pallet trucks and stackers for the European market.
Both units are expected to be operational by the end of 2009.
Last year Jungheinrich invested 40 million euros (£32 million) upgrading its factories at Norderstedt and Moosburg.
