Yell has consolidated delivery arrangements for its Yellow Pages directories after signing a five-year sole distributor contract with Deya in the UK.
Under the agreement, Deya will be responsible for the annual delivery of all 104 regional editions of the directory, which last year totalled some 28 million copies.
Until now, Yell has used four contractors for Yellow Pages deliveries across the UK, which, alongside Deya, included PDC, DDC and Link Direct. With the new arrangement the company foresees cost savings as well as greater operational efficiency.
John Satchwell, operations director at Yell (pictured left, next to Deya CEO, Mark Hayman), said: “We have decided that for the future the most effective strategy to manage this [the delivery of Yellow Pages] is by having one contractor responsible for delivery throughout the UK.”
Delivery of Yell’s Business Pages will remain unaffected by the partnership. At present there are nine regional editions of the directory, three of which are already delivered by Deya, with the remainder handled by PDC.
Yell and Deya have worked together since 1982.
