Management Dynamics has developed Air Rate Manager, an on-demand application to help companies manage air freight costs more efficiently.
The secure online software is designed to offer accurate, real-time rates, routes and carrier information, audit air waybills and provide fuel and security surcharges.
The system helps companies to improve global visibility and control using a centralised system to access up-to-date information. It is designed to calculate bottom-line shipment costs including airfreight, pick-up and delivery rates, as well as comparing costs with alternative services by carrier, point pair, rate type, commodity, hazardous designation, and transit time.
As fuel prices are continuing to rocket, the company says “access to accurate freight charges at each step in the logistics process has become critical for optimising carrier selection and maximising savings.”
