European freight operator The RH Group has posted a 20 per cent increase in pre tax profit to £3.57 million for the year ended 31 December 2007 despite the “triple challenge” of slowing economy, rocketing fuel prices and decline in value of the sterling against the euro.
The company has also reported “ahead of budget” results for the first half of 2008.
Ian Baxter, managing director of RH Group, said: “As RH is privately owned we have the independence to invest in the business today to gain a competitive edge and ensure the success of the company for decades to come.”
The company completed the implementation of a bespoke integrated IT system in 2007.
RH has its headquarters and main hub in Nottingham, delivering to 18 European cities each day. The company employs 700 staff and last year delivered 400,000 consignments across the region.
