Cummins Generation Technologies, a supplier to the distributed electrical generation markets, has chosen Ceva to handle its inbound logistics in Germany.
The service covers the supply of individual parts to the manufacturing plant, from the receiving goods department, rationing of the various storage and buffer surfaces, through to the commissioning and sequencing of material, and the supply of individual production stages with shuttle transport to the plant.
With it, Cummins Generator Technologies uses Ceva Logistics’ entire product range, consisting of sea and air freight and contract logistics. A new Ceva Logistics branch office has been opened in Königsmoos, in the southern region of Germany.
Two warehouses were made available for Cummins, with 1200 and 1600 sq m of storage space respectively, for warehousing all parts. Eight Ceva Logistics employees, as well as a group from Cummins responsible for quality control, will handle the operations.
Matthew Gilliver, materials and logistics manager of Cummins Generator Technologies: said, “It was decisive for Cummins that we work with a reliable logistics partner. Ceva Logistics has created a comprehensive range of services that are oriented to our needs and has supported production at the Ingolstadt location.”
