IntraLogisteX has finally opened its doors at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry and for the organiser of the UK’s biggest annual exhibition for the intralogistics industry, Akabo Media, there is a mixture of excitement and relief, albeit that is tinged with a little frustration that due to the pandemic-enforced delays and restrictions, the show was postponed in 2020. Still, better late than never. The ribbon was cut at 9:30am today and the announcement that the event was open for business was greeted with a loud cheer from the show’s +150 exhibitors.
“It will be a unique IntraLogisteX in a very unique year,” commented Stephen Brooks, Managing Director of Akabo Media. “We are undoubtedly pleased the show has been able to go ahead and that so many exhibitors had faith and patience – it won’t be the same event as shows gone past, but I sense a lot of excitement in the hall today. If nothing else, this is a sure sign that we are getting back to normal in the UK.
“I would like to thank every single one of our exhibitors who have supported the event – there are a lot of great-looking stands and some really innovative products on show,” continued Stephen. “Despite the pandemic, the restrictions and the uncertainty that was still in the air until even a week ago, this is a record-breaking event for IntraLogisteX. I have had so many people come up to me in the first hour and say how pleased they are that they have been able to attend a physical exhibition after a year of being cooped up and living in a virtual world. For some, it’s the first time they have been out on business in more than 12 months!”
Logistics Manager is also present at the exhibition with the July 2021 edition available, fresh off the press. IntraLogisteX visitors will be the first to see the latest issue, so if you’re in Coventry today or tomorrow, please do come by and pick up your copy.
