Aldi has awarded iForce a long-term contract to deliver a range of fulfilment services for Aldi’s non-food e-commerce platform.
Aldi revealed plans to launch an e-commerce operation in September last year. The new web site will start by selling wines, followed by non-food “Specialbuys” later in the year.
The retailer is using iForce Gateway, a fulfilment solution from iForce’s multi-client warehouse in Corby, Northamptonshire.
Aldi is also using iForce Pathfinder, a carrier management solution support by Route Genie Software.
“Our ecommerce platform is a key part of our long-term strategy to make award-winning quality at everyday low prices available to as many people as possible,” said Jonathan Neale, joint managing director of corporate buying at Aldi.
Brian Gaunt, CEO at iForce, said: “Aldi is a hugely successful, dynamic brand and we are extremely proud to support the launch and on-going development of its ecommerce operation.
“Our industry-leading fulfilment and carrier management solutions are underpinned by bespoke software, developed over many years of managing challenges within the evolving modern commerce marketplace.”
