Supermarket retailer Aldi has started recruiting for a £50million major distribution centre in Cardiff that is set to open next year. The new site, based at the Capital Business Park in Wentloog, is set to boost the South Wales economy with hundreds of new jobs when it opens in 2017.
Baxter Personnel, responsible for the recruitment process, have started hiring roles in the trading department of the DC. Hundreds of warehouse and logistics roles will be filled in the second half of 2016.
Other commercial recruitment will take place in the first half of 2016, giving the supermarket retailer 12 months to train staff before the opening of the site.
According to a 2015 report by construction data provider Barbour ABL, Aldi was leading in the race for most warehouse space planned in the UK last year.
