Meyer-Logistik has taken delivery of an all-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros which it will test over the course of the next year.
The 25-tonne refrigerated rigid will be used to serve supermarkets in the centre of Hamburg. It has payload of ten tonnes and is expected to cover 100 kilometres a day. The range of the eActos is up to 200km.

Hamburg supermarkets receive deliveries electrically now: Mercedes-Benz Trucks hands over eActros to Meyer-Logistik
Meyer-Logistik is one of twenty customers from different industries that have integrated the heavy-duty electric truck into their fleet. Each of these selected customers will put a near-series version of either the 18 or 25-tonne variant through its paces in real operations.
Matthias Strehl, managing director of Meyer-Logistik said: “We think e-trucks are perfect for delivering over that last mile – for example to supermarkets. Because they are locally emission-free and very silent, which really reduces the burden on local residents.”
