Amazon is thought to have secured two new warehouses in the Midlands totalling more than 1 million ft2.
The online retail giant has been linked with two properties at Magna Park Lutterworth one, which it will occupy direct and the other it will use via a 3PL.
It is thought to have secured BentallGreenOak’s recently refurbished MP411 unit on Hawkes Road, which boasts a 15m eaves height, 26 Dock and three level access doors as well as a 67m yard, 231 Car and 74 HGV Parking Spaces. It will let this unit directly.
The other unit it will use is believed to be GLP’s 746,478 ft2 speculative cross-dock warehouse on Magna Park South. It was one of four units to be speculatively developed last year on the site – all of which are now let or under offer.
MSP1 as the unit is known has 360 degree circulation, two 50m deep service yards, a clear internal height of 18m and an array of energy saving features.
The unit features the enhanced GLP ‘standard’ specification 2020, which includes an ultra-modern treatment to the design of the primary office elevation together with cutting edge enhancements throughout the welfare facilities that includes a gym and well being area.
No one was able to confirm the deals.
CBRE and MWRE are agents for BentallGreenOak. DTRE and Burbage Realty advised GLP.
Amazon was recently linked to IM Properties Peddimore scheme in Birmingham only last month.
