Amazon is thought to have taken a further 15-year lease on the 730,000ft2 plus ex Debenhams warehouse in Peterborough, following a short-term lease to cover Black Friday and Christmas, which was reported by Logistics Manger in October last year.
Landlord Fiera Real Estate had been marketing the property since the collapse of Debenhams in 2020. The 736,708ft2 unit at Kingston Park, Hampton, boasts a 680,997ft2 warehouse with 11,000ft2 of pallet storage space and 45,000ft2 of office space. The warehouse has 16m eaves, 71 docks and four level access doors as well as a 60m service yard, 500 car parking and 71 HGV spaces.
The investor bought the property in 2017 for £86.4 million with 12 years unexpired on the lease.
It was taken on by Amazon to support its primary warehouse on the adjacent site. It will be the fourth centre operated by the online retailer in Peterborough. As well as its fulfilment centre at Kingston Park, Amazon has a centre at Orton Southgate and a new delivery station at Peterborough Gateway.
CBRE is advising Amazon. CBRE and Burbage Realty are acting for the landlord.
