Online retailer Amazon has selected logistics developer Mountpark to deliver its newest French fulfilment centre at Mountpark Chartres in Illiers-Combray.
The single storey fulfilment centre is on a 23ha site that forms part of the wider 60ha Mountpark Chartres site.
The retained general contractor, BEG Ingénierie, has started the construction of Amazon’s 118,500m² property, with completion expected by the end of 2026.
The property will be equipped with Amazon’s robotic technologies and is expected, reports Amazon, to create nearly 1,000 jobs in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Development director for Mountpark in France Nicholas Jordan said: “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Amazon by delivering this new fulfilment centre in France.
“The scale of this extensive build project reinforces our expertise in identifying and providing top-tier logistics solutions that meet the demands of global brand leaders. Mountpark Chartres’ prime connectivity facilitates highly efficient distribution throughout France.”
