Amazon is rumoured to have taken PLP’s K800 site in Knowsley, Merseyside for a huge 800,000 sq ft plus distribution centre.
It is thought to have been in discussions with the developer since 2019, which led to a new planning application for the 37.66 acre site to address specific issues with the warehouse’s size, layout and access last year.
The facility which has now secured planning permission, will total 835,678 sq ft and will comprise a 562,887 sq ft main warehouse processing area, a 199,670 sq ft mezzanine floor, pick tower racking, a 45,951 sq ft office and welfare block, and a 7,836 sq ft truckers lounge and bathroom facilities.
It will have 15m eaves, 64 dock and four level access doors on two sides with 108 HGV parking spaces, 534 car parking spaces including 28 disabled spaces and 53 electric charging spaces.
The site, off Moss Lane in Knowsley Business Park, was formerly occupied by Sonae Tafibra, and was acquired in 2015.
B8 Real Estate and JLL are joint agents on the PLP Knowsley site.
