Argos is launching Fast Track, a new service offering same day home delivery or store collection for some 20,000 products.
Customers can see Fast Track items online, purchase them, and chose either to collect them from a local store or schedule a same-day or next-day delivery slot.
Goods ordered by 6pm can be delivered by 10pm the same day. Customers can also schedule a time on the next day or future days. The delivery fee is £3.95.
Argos is offering four home delivery slots: 7am-10am, 10am-1pm, 2pm-6pm and 7pm-10pm, seven days a week including Sunday.
Fast Track Collection is free, and customers can collect their products from 800 Argos store which have specially marked counters.
Argos has created new jobs for 3,300 drivers, who will operate 800 vans this Christmas season. Up to 1,000 drivers are currently being recruited for the upcoming Christmas season.
The retailer has been testing Fast Track for several months, and said it was only possible because changes to its stocking, distribution and digital systems, such as the ‘hub & spoke’ stocking model it deployed in stores last year.

Argos offers around 50,000 products through its mobile channels, stores and over the telephone.
