Aztek Logistics has partnered with the NHS to provide supply chain services.
The company previously provided free storage space to the NHS during the peak of the pandemic and has since transformed that partnership into a longer-term commercial consignment.
Now, the two companies have formalised the agreement to manage the stock and distribution of all consumables that go into the service’s fleet of ambulances – from PPE and test kits, to bandages and cleaning equipment.
The storage in Aztek’s 120,000 sq. ft. premises ensured the sanitised medical items remained safe until they were needed to replenish stock levels at the local NHS East Ambulance station.
Duncan Pannell, Operations Manager at Aztek Logistics said: “The local Letchworth station has only very limited space and, with the need for a larger stores requirement, they asked if we could help. Initially, we agreed to hold around 100 pallets free of charge for about a year until we made it a commercial relationship.
“We continue to hold around 100 items of turning stock for them and also deliver it back to the Letchworth station when it is called off.”
Aztek Logistics is a shareholder member of the Pallet-Track network.
