Bibby Distribution has taken delivery of two longer semi-trailers, which will be used to service Bibby’s contract with Tayto, and also form part of a 10-year government trial project that Bibby is participating in.
The arrival of the two LSTs follows the snack manufacturer’s introduction of a virtual warehouse system, developed by teams from Bibby Distribution and Tayto’s Supply Chain & Commercial department.
Nigel Smith, Tayto’s supply chain director, said: “The introduction of these two new trailers is very exciting for us at Tayto… they directly assist us in meeting our goals – which are to ensure our product reaches the customer quickly and in quantity, but also in a way that has the least impact on the environment.”
