Online fashion retailer Boohoo has completed the fit-out of the extension to its Burnley distribution centre which includes an element of automation, the company said as it unveiled a 48 per cent increase in sales last year.
The retailer, whose brands include PrettyLittleThing and Nasty Gal, is in the process of building a distribution network capable of generating £3 billion in net sales globally.
In its results for the year to 28th February, it said: “Our extended Burnley distribution centre now has a significant element of automation, which will enhance productivity and improve efficiency.
“Following the addition of the Sheffield facility for PrettyLittleThing, our distribution centres in Burnley and Sheffield represent significant stepping stones as we build towards creating a distribution network capable of generating £3 billion of net sales globally.”
Revenue was up 48 per cent at £856.9 million while adjusted EBITDA was up 49 per cent at £84.5m. The company is targeting sales growth of 25 per cent a year.
Chief executive John Lyttle said: “The group’s investments into its brands and infrastructure have allowed it to develop a scalable multi-brand platform that is well-positioned to disrupt, gain market share and capitalise on what is a truly global opportunity.”
