Briggs Equipment is building a 65,000 sq ft purpose-built regional facility in Haydock providing storage space for up to 600 forklift trucks, a 38,000 sq ft workshop and loading bays for 4 HGVs.
The site will be a hub for both the workshop and field based engineering teams, along with office-based staff in the North, and it is expected to be completed this autumn.
The building is on the new Empress Park estate, close to Briggs Equipment’s existing centre on the Old Boston Trading Estate, which the firm plans to close to relocate all personnel to Empress Park.
CEO Richard Close said: “The site’s reinforced foundations will enable us to store and prepare higher volumes of big trucks weighing up to 90 tonnes. This will be a major advantage as we continue to develop our port and freight terminal business.”
