BT’s Final Mile delivery locker business has grown to offer the service from 1,000 sites around the UK.
The service targets field engineering teams reducing the distances engineers need to travel to collect essential equipment and spare parts.
Each unit is accessed via a unique code which is associated with specific users, drivers and parcels. The units have IoT sensors and secure, low power mobile connections to provide track and trace services.
General manager Steve Maddison said: “We know Final Mile works because we’ve tested it with one of the largest field engineering workforces in the UK – our own.”
