Kevin Richardson is to take over as chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport from Steve Agg.
Agg is retiring from the institute after almost ten years in the role. Richardson will join the institute in December before taking over as chief executive in January.
Richardson has been European development director at XPO Logistics (formerly Norbert Dentressangle) for the past four years.
Before that he spent 20 years at TDG progressing from implementation director to strategic development director.
CILT chairman Professor Richard Wilding said: ‘We are delighted to announce Kevin Richardson as the Institute’s new chief executive. He will lead the institute with commitment, energy and a wealth of expertise into a new era within the logistics and transport sector.’
And Beverley Bell, CILT president and senior traffic commissioner for Great Britain said: “I am looking forward to working with Kevin in his new role as Chief Executive of the Institute. His experience in the logistics and transport sector will ensure the Institute continues to grow as the profession expands and develops.”
