McLaren has completed construction of a 320,000 sq ft distribution centre for Stoford, located in Ashton-in-Makerfield near Wigan. The unit will become a new distribution centre for Poundland.
The works comprise the construction of a single storey structural steel warehouse unit together with single storey office accommodation. Externally, the scheme includes a vehicle maintenance unit, gatehouse, vehicle wash, fuel island, sprinkler tanks, as well as parking for 284 cars and 158 lorries.
Within the works, McLaren is carrying out the fit out for Poundland. Enhancements include mechanical, electrical & sprinkler installation, bailer pits, shrink wrap areas, racking installation, offices and welfare facilities.
