Furniture retailer DFS has awarded supply chain partner Wincanton an additional three-year contract, extending the partnership between the companies that began three years ago.
This new contract will not only extend but expand the collaboration between the DFS Group and Wincanton. Until now, Wincanton’s main focus with this contract has been providing a two-person home delivery service for DFS’ Dwell furniture brand; going forward, Wincanton will provide services for a broader range of DFS products.
Carl Moore, Managing Director of e-fulfilment at Wincanton, said: “The DFS Group’s relationship with Wincanton has developed over a number of years, initially through our Dwell business and now as we look to move further with Wincanton to fulfil our ‘home’ (non-sofa) categories. Wincanton and the DFS Group have worked together to develop the ‘home’ fulfilment supply routes which go live for our customers in the coming months.”
Wincanton will ‘oversee end-to-end management of all customer orders from suppliers to point of delivery and return, ensuring a seamless customer experience and helping to support DFS’ e-commerce growth strategy’.
This comes after Neal’s Yard Remedies also extended its award-winning partnership with Wincanton in December.
