Furniture retailer DFS has taken on a ten-year lease for a newly refurbished 36,423 sq ft warehouse and distribution unit at Chelmsford Industrial Estate.
Commercial property investment manager Orchard Street converted and refurbished the unit into a logistics focused asset. DFS will use the unit as a distribution centre to fulfil orders in the South East of England following its refurbishment which included the addition of six new loading doors.
“This letting demonstrates the strength of occupier demand for industrial accommodation within this highly sought sub-market which benefits from a strategic south-east distribution location,” as well as “enabling long-term stable income streams from a strong covenant such as DFS,” said Orchard Street asset manager Helena Kolsaker.
