DHL Supply Chain Life Sciences has constructed a new GMP compliant, 2-8°C temperature controlled clean room at its secondary packaging facility in Banbury, UK.
The new space has been designed to meet demand from customers to uphold cold chain condition while executing secondary packaging tasks.
DHL Supply Chain, which also operates NHS Supply Chain, delivers value-added services to its customers that are using warehousing for commercial drugs or medical devices, and clinical trial materials, as well as standalone services.
Peter Goold, global operations director of clinical trials and packaging services, said: “As fully compliant end-to-end cold chain management becomes a central theme within the challenges posed to our customers, we must ensure we have the best operational capabilities to deal with this growing need.
“The addition of a dedicated chilled GMP packaging room allows us to expand our portfolio of packaging services and enhance DHL’s position as a leading solutions provider in the Clinical Trials market.”
