DHL Express plans to relocate from its site at Nine Elms in London to Howard Group’s a 57,000 sq ft Tea Shed development on the Elizabeth Industrial Estate in Lewisham.
The 10m high facility, which is part of DHL’s £156m UK investment, will be constructed on the former site of the Mazawattee Tea Company and will incorporate the latest technology and mechanical handling processes with full direct load and automated sort technology.
Ray Tullet, DHL’s infrastructure manager, said: “This enhanced facility will help us to facilitate export success in the UK and support the on-going growth of our customers. In a strategic London location and surrounded by good infrastructure we’re introducing the most up to date technology meaning we can continue to deliver world class service for our customers.”
